History
Whispering Range
Realty, LLC, opened for business on September of
2007 in Mountainair, New Mexico in spite of the fact
that there were already multiple real estate
brokerages in operation within the Central Mountain
region. Our reasoning for starting a brokerage
business, simply stated, was that we wanted to offer
a choice to buyers and sellers for representation.

George was
raised in rural Nebraska where she learned a
solid, reliable, and honorable work ethic. That
rural up brining encouraged George to become a
self starter, her career path defined by the
desire to better herself with formal and self
education, tools that enable George to offer
better service to her clients, customers and
community.
George and her
husband realized their dream of coming home to
New Mexico in 1989. Their hope was to some day
be able to return to the family ranch. George
and her husband owner-built their first home
near Cedar Grove, just a short distance from
Edgewood, New Mexico. In 1996 the dream of
owning the family ranch located just outside of
Mountainair, New Mexico came true and the
Hewett's move home.
George has
learned a great deal along the way by earning an
Associates Degree in Accounting, gaining
practical business experience through various
managerial roles, owning/operating a successful
and profitable small business, continued
operation and co-management of the family ranch
and now, offering exceptional real estate
service through Whispering Range Realty, LLC.

Richard is a
native New Mexican with deep family roots in
central New Mexico, dating back to the 1880’s.
His grandfather was the first non-hispanic
settler to inhabit and develop the area west of
Mountainair, New Mexico.
Land
stewardship, water issues, and natural resource
conservation have always been top priorities in
Richard’s professional and private life. Richard
has a BS degree from New Mexico State University
, majoring in Range Biology and Management.
Prior to his real estate career, Richard worked
over 30 years for the Natural Resources
Conservation Service, Bureau of Land Management,
and US Forest Service. The last position he
held before retirement was Area Resource
Conservationist for the southeast quarter of
NM.
Currently,
Richard is a consultant to individuals and
companies needing natural resource enhancement
and management expertise. Concurrently, with his
professional career, Richard has always owned
and managed rangeland where he has grazed horses
and cattle. Realistic presentations of vacant
land, farms, and ranches are his specialty.
Invaluable specific knowledge of Central and
Southeast New Mexico is outstanding, and he has
a working knowledge of the deserts, mountains,
mesas, and plains areas in all of New Mexico.
